Selection Criteria

Overall, the Banff Forum seeks participants who, through active engagement in community, corporate, political, non-profit, entrepreneurial, governmental or artistic endeavors, strive to build a better Canada and help build the Banff Forum Community. We also seek to reflect the rich diversity of Canada.

The following criteria will be used to select participants:

LEADERSHIP: The Banff Forum seeks established and emerging leaders who have achieved success in their field.

IMPACT: The Banff Forum seeks candidates who have a demonstrated involvement in building a better Canada and improving the lives of Canadians. Candidates should be keen to share their ideas and opinions in a public forum.

Other considerations:

DIVERSITY: The Banff Forum strives for its membership to reflect the diversity of our country. The Banff Forum also wishes to encourage applications from young Indigenous leaders. We also strive for gender parity.  

PROFESSIONAL: The Banff Forum seeks include voices from a wide cross-section of professional sectors, including those who work in the arts and culture, scientific, entrepreneurial, and technology sectors.

For those seeking financial assistance, a limited number of scholarships are available for 2018 participants. Please complete the scholarship application form below. Scholarships are awarded based on demonstrated need. Successful applicants will be notified following registration.
Please include your scholarship request below. Requests should answer the questions of why you should be selected for a scholarship, and if awarded one, how you will continue to contribute to the betterment of Canada and the Banff Forum community beyond the conference. Limit of 250 words.
