Pre-conference Excursion to Québec City and Montréal

On November 6-7, we are offering our participants the opportunity to participate in a unique excursion to Québec City and Montréal. The experience includes:
Sail from Montréal to Québec City aboard a Halifax-class frigate, HMCS St. John’s, and participate in the Canadian Leaders at Sea experiential program hosted by the Royal Canadian Navy. Spend the day with RCN sailors and officers to gain a deeper understanding of their mission in service to Canada both at home and around the world.
Enjoy a private reception and tour of the dynamic Montréal Institute for Learning Algorithms (MILA), an incubator for innovation in artificial intelligence and the integration the social impacts of technology in industry. The reception includes a talk with Paul Desmarais III, Executive Chairman of Portag3 Ventures, a leading Canadian venture capital firm with investments in global FinTech and AI companies and MILA CEO Valérie Pisano.
Participate in an intimate chat with philanthropist and businessman Stephen Bronfman exploring topics such as the return of baseball to Montréal and Canada-Israel relations
Engage with Grand Chief Joseph Tokwiro Norton of Mohawk Council of Kahnawá:ke to discuss Indigenous revitalization in the region, including the innovative Tewatohnhi’saktha Economic Development Commission
Tour the famous Jean Talon Market followed by an apèro and talk about Montréal gastronomy with Joe Beef co-founder Jeff Baikowitz and Chef Derek Dammann of Maison Publique and McKiernan Luncheonette.

The pre-conference starts in Montréal the morning of Wednesday, November 6 and concludes with a transfer to Mont-Tremblant in time for the opening reception of the 2019 Banff Forum.
Pre-Conference registration AND FEES
Pre-conference spots are limited due to cost and capacity. Registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis. We ask that participants attend the entire pre-conference. If you are not able to participate fully, from start to finish, we ask that you leave space for another potential participant.
Registration Fees
The registration fee for all participants (regardless of age or occupation) is $449.00 (plus tax).
These fees include:
All transfers, including to the Port of Montréal, sailing to Québec City, coach from Québec City to Montréal, coach from Montréal to Mont-Tremblant.
Overnight accommodation on November 6 at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth in Montréal
All presentations and group activities in Québec City and Montréal
All scheduled meals.
These fees DO NOT include:
Accommodation in Montréal the night of November 5. A special room rate is available for the group at Fairmont Queen Elizabeth. To book a room, email contact@banffforum.ca.
Airport transfers to downtown Montréal
Any incidentals or personal or business expenses
Meals, transportation, and/or activities for non-registered partners
Childcare services, children’s meals, or any activities for children.
IMPORTANT: Participants must arrive at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth in Montréal by 7:30AM on Wednesday, November 6.
Some of the program will take place outdoors. Dress appropriately for the weather.
You must be a fully registered 2019 Banff Forum delegate to register for the pre-conference.
